December at Haagse Schatten: you don’t want to miss this

The busiest month of the year! And at our treasures there’s plenty of fun to do in the coming weeks as well. From tasty Christmas dinners to cosy winter markets, musical moments, wintry workshops and so much more! We’ve listed our favourite December activities for you.

• 2 & 9 December at 19:30 you can join a creative Christmas-themed workshop at De Iris. Sign up here.
• 7 December: Bach & Breakfast at Thrive! This lovely coffee house in the Geuzenkwartier transforms into a classical concert hall for a moment. Order a good cup of coffee and sit back with beautiful live music in the background. A wonderful start to your Sunday morning, if you ask us.
• 12 December there’s a chocolate workshop with high tea on the schedule at SevenHouse. There are only a few spots left for this delicious and relaxing afternoon! Sign up via info@sevenhouse.nl.
• On the weekend of 12 and 13 December, Het Filmhuis hosts the ROOTS Film Festival once again. Filmmakers from The Hague (and okay… a few from Rotterdam) take centre stage this weekend and present their work!
• 13 December, from 10:00–16:00, it’s winter at De Iris. Expect delicious snacks, warm drinks and winter mini-workshops every hour. Oh, and how about a surprise bag full of Christmassy goodies? For sale for 10 euros. Also nice as a gift!
• On 13 December, it’s Open Studio at De Kust. Bring your own creative project—one of those things you never get around to at home. Meet other creatives and get inspired. Coffee and treats are waiting for you.
• The cosiest living room in Scheveningen, De Zelfspot, is organising a Winter Market on 13 December, with products from local designers. Local! Something we can only applaud, of course! You’re welcome from 11:00–16:00.
• Also on 13 December, you won’t get bored because Helder Yoga is hosting a lovely afternoon retreat. A bit of midday relaxation amidst the holiday hustle and Christmas drinks.
• 28 December marks the fourth edition of Singer-Songwriter Sunday at Thrive, this time including a DJ afterwards! Starts at 15:00. End time unknown 😉

Even more December fun at our treasures

Our treasures cook up the most amazing dishes all year long. And for Christmas they like to go the extra mile. These special Christmas menus have been prepared for you:

• On 24 and 26 December, you can enjoy a luxurious dinner at Dr. Wines starting from 15:00! Quite nice not to have to cook yourself. And you’re guaranteed great wine 😉
• On 24 December, Pluk is hosting an XXL edition of their Social Dinner, with harvest from the garden, cooked together with participants from Reakt who work at Pluk as part of daytime activities. Come together in this cosy city farm and enjoy long tables and the true spirit of Christmas: no one should be alone at Christmas.
• How about sushi for Christmas? At De Sushimeisjes, you can order a special Holiday Box. A sushi platter with 72 pieces—perfect for dinner for 4 or a drinks spread for 6–8 people. Note! Pickup only on 24, 25 or 31 December, and be sure to order on time via their website.
• You can also celebrate Christmas at Bistro Jules! With a special 5- or 6-course Christmas menu. 24 December from 17:30, 25 December from 12:00, and 26 December from 17:30.
