April at Haagse Schatten: Don’t Miss This!
We’re kicking off the month with a long, lovely Easter weekend and the rest of April is packed with fun activities too. From the French market to the Running Club, and from a Bonsai Workshop to a Jeu de Boules tournament, there’s something for everyone! Here’s a roundup of our favorite events, special offers, and highlights for April. Read on!

This Easter weekend, of course, you can visit our treasures for a festive breakfast, brunch, lunch, or another activity. Our Eefje has listed them all in this blog. Happy Easter!
But the rest of April is just as full of great events:
- The Hague Boat season kicks off again on Good Friday, April 3. Drop by our treasures for private boat trips, party boats, and more!
- Your favorite French market, Le Marie Marché, will be at Noordeinde on April 4, 5, and 6.
- Atelier Bogoria pop-up at Thrive on April 4 (10:00–13:00). Enjoy live music by a Kenyan-Congolese musician, browse books and prints, and sip authentic African filter coffee.
- Author Janneke Siebelink visits In de Wolken on April 9. In this cozy literary evening for adults, our treasures interview Janneke about her books, work, and inspiration. A book signing follows. Sign up via info@indewolken.nl.
- Open Mic at The Dutch Language Café on April 10! Everyone is welcome to perform or watch; the theme is “Seasons.” Free entry for performers, €11 for the audience.
- De Klerenmeisjes pop-up at Pluk on April 11 & 12. A special kids edition, but adults will love it too—time to dig out your piggy banks and score your summer outfit!
- Clay & Wine at Het Keramisch Huis on April 11, 15:00–17:30. A 2.5-hour sculpting workshop for beginners, paired with wine (or coffee/tea) and treats. A creative afternoon and chance to meet other women in The Hague.
- Ballen & Zand Tournament at Strandhuis Maví on April 12. A sporty beach afternoon of jeu de boules. Register your team and compete for prizes!
- Bonsai for Beginners workshop at The Little Green Shop on April 12. Fun and educational!
- Atelier Bogoria returns to Thrive on April 17 for Stories & Soils (18:30–21:30).
- Giga Grote Pizzafestijn at Strandhuis Maví on April 18. Don’t miss it!
- Puzzled Pint at Dutch Language Café on April 18, an English-language evening with word puzzles, pizza, and drinks (with or without alcohol). Bring friends or join a group there. Free event!
- Opening of the self-harvest garden at Zwart Zaad on April 19. Exciting!
- Porte Reffe Wine Tasting + Dinner at Haags Hoog on April 19, 16:00–18:00. Two treasures in one!
- Freshmarkt at Prins Hendrikstraat on April 19, featuring a stall from The Little Green Shop.
- Thrive is now also open on Wednesdays starting April 22. We’re personally very happy about that!
- Thrive turns 1 year old on April 25! Celebrate with a full program: Happy Legs Runclub, Bach & Breakfast, open cupping by Bitterzoet, filter coffee workshop by Ief & Ido, bar takeover by Roast Factory, a Songwriter Sunday jam session, and a toast.
- Kokedama workshop at The Little Green Shop with Barro on April 26.
- Proefboutique special evening on April 29. Amber invites you to her test kitchen, and this edition—by popular demand—will most likely focus on cheese. The city of cheese lovers awaits!
Weekly Highlights
