February at Haagse Schatten: you don’t want to miss this

Our The Hague treasures never slow down, so the weekly agenda is packed with fun once again. From Friday drinks to Valentine’s menus, and from tulip-picking days to jam sessions. There’s plenty to choose from, with something for everyone! We’ve rounded up our favourite activities, specials and diary highlights for February. Care to take a look?

Februari

  • The Great Take Over! From 30 January, the treasures of Suiderstrand are taking over Not Out for a whole week. Expect a touch of beach club vibes in this sports bar. What a great combination!
  • Every Friday, our favourite baker in The Hague, Brood van Bro, stays open longer for VrijMiBro. From 4 pm onwards, you can drop by for a nice drink and the most delicious baked goods.
  • On 7 February, it’s Tulip Picking Day at Bloemenwinkel de Iris. Coffee will be ready, and you can join various mini-workshops between 10 am and 4 pm.
  • On 7 February, the Dutch Language Café hosts a Jam Session: “Bring your instrument and join our community jam session. An afternoon full of live music where we play popular songs together and then freely improvise. All levels and genres welcome.”
  • Once a month, Jet from De Kust opens her studio, inviting you to settle in and work on your own creative project. This month it takes place on Sunday 8 February, from 10 am to 12:30 pm.
  • From 13 to 24 February, Het Filmhuis celebrates Lunar New Year with a special film programme: iconic films that celebrate the diversity of Asian cinema.
  • Valentine’s Day is a perfect excuse to head out with your date, best friend, or another love in your life. How about a Valentine’s High Tea at Hug the Tea? Between 11 am and 4 pm, enjoy matcha, Japanese tea, and a selection of sweet and savoury treats together.
  • The creative women of Het Keramisch Huis also have a lovely Valentine’s deal: come as a pair to the Clay & Glaze workshop on 14 February and pay just €90 for two people. Book your spot quickly via the website.
  • Of course, Bistro Jules is also serving a Valentine’s menu. On 14, 15 and 16 February, enjoy five delicious courses for €55 at this The Hague treasure. Booking ahead is recommended.
  • Ever heard of a Sound Journey? A unique experience where sound and vibrations are used to calm both body and mind. During these sessions, you’re surrounded by deep, soothing tones that help release tension and guide you into a deeply relaxed state. On 15 February, you can join a session at our treasure Helder Yoga.
  • In collaboration with Festival Dag in de Branding, Het Filmhuis is screening two classics by silent film legend Buster Keaton. During this festival, venues across The Hague introduce you to the latest music.
  • Pizza! On 22 February, Bennies Playcare is organising a Pizza Party for kids aged 3 to 8 at Lunchroom Luca.
  • On Wednesday 25 February, In de Wolken hosts an inspiration afternoon about non-fiction books for children in years 1 to 8. There’s space for 50 participants (parents and teachers).
  • Kick off the weekend at great height at Haags Hoog. Every last Friday of the month, you’re welcome for a Vrijmibo on the seventh floor of this cool industrial building on Televisiestraat.
  • Time for a spring wardrobe for the kids! On 28 February, from 10 am onwards, you can visit Achtung! Baby for the Spring First Pick.
  • The last Wednesday of the month is TASTE Wednesday at Proefboutique. They serve dishes that are (not yet) on the menu: creations they’re experimenting with and love to share with you. Think of it as a behind-the-scenes look at Proefboutique, and be sure to reserve your spot quickly.
