• One of our all-time favourite beach hangouts – and a very good reason to head towards Kijkduin – is BLOW Beach House. Surrounded by nothing but nature and right next to the Zandmotor, it’s a dream spot for water sports lovers, sun seekers, beach walkers and ocean gazers alike. Basically, everyone. In our book, it’s the perfect place to raise a glass to all dads this Sunday.
• Another treasure that’s well worth the (slight) detour: BLEND ONE. Just across the official city border in Voorburg, this all-day café is run by the warm and welcoming Kuiper family. Parents Kuiper are behind the counter, daughter Teddie – once crowned the best barista in the Netherlands! – whips up amazing coffee, and siblings Melle and Marin are on hand wherever needed. With a varied menu and plenty of seating, it’s a great spot for everyone, big and small.

• Is your dad a true music lover? Then we’d love to point you toward CrazyHorseRecordstore. A two-story music heaven packed with vinyl, CDs, vintage finds, and more. This is the place for golden oldies, rare treasures, and artists you’ve never heard of. But you’ll also find the latest releases and big names. Get expert advice from the people in the shop—they really know their stuff! And want to listen before deciding if it’s the right album for you or your dad? No problem—they’re happy to play it for you.
• For the outdoorsy dad, there’s one place in The Hague you simply can’t miss: HUNA Camping & Outdoorshop. The city’s go-to outdoor specialist—and a local favorite for over 80 years. Behind the storefront on Regentesseplein lies a wonderland for nature lovers and outdoor adventurers. And the locally owned treasures make this place extra special.
• And of course, a true Hague dad deserves truly Hague beer. And it doesn’t get more “Haags” than Eiber! Order his favorite brew or a mixed six-pack as a gift—or go all out with a beer tasting! During the tasting, they’ll walk you through the brewing process: what goes into making that perfect bottle of beer? You’ll look at it, smell it, and of course… taste it.

• In the mood for a sporty activity? Take your dad bouldering! Climbing in its purest form: no ropes, no harness—just you and a wall full of colorful grips (and a thick mat to catch you if you lose your grip!). We’re proud to call two of The Hague’s bouldering gyms real local treasures: Boulderhal De Campus and Boulderhal Walhalla. So go ahead and take your dad there with confidence—it’s all set for a fun and active outing.
• Brute Bonen in the Binckhorst is a bright and welcoming espresso bar in one of The Hague’s up-and-coming areas, perfect for breakfast, lunch, or just a great cup of coffee together. What makes this spot extra special? The coffee roastery is right there on site. If you’re curious to learn more about roasting and tasting coffee—or want to brew barista-style coffee (with latte art!) at home—sign up for one of their two-hour workshops. Choose between Roasting & Tasting or the (Home) Barista Workshop. A fun and useful activity to do together.
• At Eetwinkel Vork, you’ll find more than just delicious, freshly made meals. In the back of the shop, there’s a spacious and cozy kitchen where Chef Udo hosts cooking workshops. Whether you want to level up your cooking skills or simply enjoy a great afternoon together, there’s something for everyone. Workshops are held weekly and can also be booked privately. Perfect for that master chef of a dad!
