Phenomenal sourdough bread, perfect croissants and other divine bakes. At Brood van Bro, you’ll quickly run out of room in your stomach. A truly great croissant is always a good idea, but if you’re in the mood for something more adventurous, this is the place to be. Quality always comes before quantity at Bro. So don’t expect thirty different options, but rather a small, ever-changing selection of about ten outstanding products.
From a croissant with goat cheese and kimchi to a classic carrot cake, or from a richly topped focaccia to their phenomenal sourdough bread, because that’s where it all began.
Corona-hobby
Who would have thought the lockdown would bring us something so good? During those months, Alexander started baking, using a sourdough starter. After plenty of experimenting and a few days of shadowing the team at local bakery Pompernikkel he finally dared to let his friends taste his homemade bread.
When his good friend Bas tried it, he was instantly sold. The two saw a gap in the market and decided to keep baking, but on a bigger scale. Alex focused on the baking, while Bas took care of the business side.
And it worked. After first supplying several cafés and restaurants in The Hague, Brood van Bro now has its own lovely spot on Wagenstraat. A huge asset to the city and, of course, to our club of The Hague treasures.
VrijMiBro
Brood van Bro is normally open from Wednesday to Sunday, starting at 9 a.m. Perfect for enjoying those delicious bakes and a great cup of coffee. But on Fridays, things get a little livelier. The bakery stays open later, because around 4 p.m., it’s time for the VrijMiBro! A relaxed Friday afternoon get-together with beers, wine, and seriously tasty snacks. Sourdough bread pairs perfectly with homemade tzatziki, and don’t even get us started on the sourdough pizza. We’re big fans!
