Don’t miss this in your summer break

#1 Aloha surf camp

Very popular every year: Aloha’s Surf Camp! The ultimate summer break to-do for kids full of surfing, skating, and fun with other kids.

Aloha Surf Camp runs all summer vacation from Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00. You can join for a single day, multiple days, or a whole week. The morning starts at 8:30 AM at Aloha. Twice a day, the kids go into the water with a certified surf instructor. Besides surfing, there is also time for skating, t-shirt screen printing, beach games, and more. In case of bad weather, other fun activities are organized.

#2 An afternoon of ‘Zelfspot’

At De Zelfspot they have a lot off great activities and workshops during the summer! Such as a Japanese bookbinding workshop, a ‘shake the dust’ workout, a special art exhibition, and more!

#3 Strolling around the French market

Something that should not be missing from your summer is a day of strolling along the Lange Vijverberg during Le Marie Marché. Wake up with a coffee and a fresh crêpe while overlooking the Hofvijver, walk along the stalls filled with homemade and handmade products, play a game of pétanque (it doesn’t get more French than that!), and enjoy live music. The next edition is on August 24 and 25. The market is open from 11:00 – 17:00, entry is free.

#4 SummerStop at the Filmhuis

During the summer vacation, the Filmhuis, in addition to the regular programming, has a special kids’ program: SummerStop(motion)! For children aged 6 and up, there will be four special stop-motion films. Additionally, kids can participate in a cool stop-motion workshop!

#5 TrashUre Hunting

Join the Summer Challenge of TrashUre Hunt! From the headquarters next to the Pier in Scheveningen, these heroes have been committed to a clean beach for the 9th summer in a row.

Want to join? Pick up a TrashUre bag and dive into nature in search of treasures that don’t belong there. For every full bag, you receive a TrashUre Hunt token which you can redeem every Wednesday for a free Trash & Art or Trash & Skate Workshop!

TrashUre Hunt is open on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00.

A summer must: exploring with the The Hague Treasure Map! Hop on your bike and discover all the cool, hidden hotspots of The Hague! Make a stop for a delicious lunch, a visit to a cool vintage shop, a coffee at a nice café, and do your shopping at a local store.
