Wednesday 19 February 2025
We’ve done enough sitting still and recharging during the Christmas holidays. The spring holiday is all about activities! With spring just around the corner, we’re feeling the itch to get moving. Learn a new skill at one of the workshops offered by our The Hague treasures, enjoy live music or a great movie, or climb your way to the top at one of The Hague’s bouldering halls. In this blog, you’ll find the best tips for an adventurous and creative spring break in The Hague!
Z’AHA deli – Vegan Taco Special
We’re kicking off the holiday in style with a festive four-course vegan dinner at this treasure. You probably know Z’AHA deli for its glass display cases filled with colorful salads, sandwiches, and the most delicious sweet treats. Now, they’re hosting a special evening!
Reserve a table for Friday, February 21, between 6:00 and 8:00 PM and enjoy a surprise tasting of delicious tacos.
De Kust – Open Studio
In the mood for a creative session? But is that half-started, never-finished project still lying around in the corner? We’ve all been there! That’s exactly why Jet from De Kust came up with the Open Studio.
During the Open Studio on Saturday, February 22, at 10:00 AM, you can work on your own project in a relaxed and small-scale setting. Whilst crafting, you’ll meet fellow creatives, get inspired, enjoy a good cup of coffee or tea, clear your mind, and leave with fresh energy. What a great idea!
Brute Bonen – (Home) Barista Workshop
Learn everything there is to know about brewing the perfect cup of coffee. From espresso to cappuccino to latte (maybe even with your first attempt at latte art!). In just two hours, the coffee pros at Brute Bonen will train you to become a true home barista.
There are two sessions on February 22: one at 9:00 AM and one at 2:00 PM.

Filmhuis – Surf Special
Immerse yourself in the most beautiful surf stories during the Surf Film Nights at Filmhuis The Hague. From documentaries to feature films, from local creators to international hits – all films share a deep passion for surfing.
On the program: The Road to Patagonia, screening on February 24 at 8:45 PM. This stunning documentary follows ecologist Matty Hannon as he travels the west coast of the Americas by motorbike, surfing from Alaska to Patagonia. His adventure takes an unexpected turn when he loses everything – and finds the love of his life. Filmed over the span of 16 years, this film is an intimate love letter to both nature and adventure.
De Zelfspot – Shake the Dust
Break your week – or your holiday – with a Shake the Dust session. Just like every other Wednesday, Zoë will be leading this energizing workout from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at De Zelfspot. A unique blend of yoga, fitness, and mindfulness, this session is the perfect way to start your day.
And of course, after the workout, you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee at this beloved The Hague hotspot. Shake off the dust and step into spring feeling refreshed and energized!
Proefboutique – Cheese Night!
We’ve been looking forward to this night for a long time – an evening dedicated to CHEESE! The very first edition kicks off on Wednesday, February 26, and from then on, you can enjoy a special cheese night at Proef every last Wednesday of the month.
We already knew Proefboutique was the ultimate spot for wine, cozy vibes, and the best charcuterie boards. But with this irresistible event, we may never want to leave!
For this first edition, the star of the evening is Mont d’Or cheese. You’ll get a warm, gooey Mont d’Or to dip with fresh crudités, delicious bread, charcuterie, and more! This creamy cheese is only in season for a short time, so you definitely don’t want to miss this one.

Bistro Loft – Live Music
Every Thursday, Bistro Loft – located in the historic Jeruzalemkerk on Pomonaplein – hosts live music. And of course, the food is absolutely delicious. So why not combine the two this holiday? On Thursday, February 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, you can enjoy a night of great music and great dining.
What makes this location truly special is the sense of peace and space you feel the moment you step inside. The huge windows, high ceilings, and beautiful natural light make Bistro Loft a place you’ll want to return to again and again.
Boulderhal Walhalla & De Campus – Bouldering
Looking for a sporty challenge this holiday? Try bouldering! No ropes, just you and the wall. It’s perfect for both beginners and experienced climbers, with different routes set at various levels. And it’s a great activity for kids too!
Both Boulderhal Walhalla and Boulderhal De Campus have extended opening hours during the holiday, so you can climb well into the evening. Fun and adrenaline guaranteed at these The Hague treasures!

Plenty to enjoy in the final holiday weekend. The last weekend of the spring break is packed with fun activities in The Hague. Here’s where to be:
Haags Hoog – Friday Drinks with a View
The last Friday of the month is always marked in our calendar – it’s time for VrijMiBo at Haags Hoog! From 5:00 PM onwards, you can enjoy drinks at great heights, with the best view over the city.
And it gets even better: not only do you get to sip your drink inside a stunning greenhouse with panoramic views, but you can also see exactly where your beer comes from. Eiber Bier’s brewery is located right on the sixth floor of this building!
Entry is free, so stop by this amazing spot on the seventh floor of The New Farm, located in Televisiestraat.
Le Marie Marché – French Market
The first edition of the season! This always feels like a special version of The Hague’s beloved French market. Once again, the charming stalls will be set up along De Lange Vijverberg, right next to the iconic Hofvijver.
It’s the perfect place to wander, soak up the French atmosphere, and sip on a glass of cider while browsing unique, authentic products.
Fingers crossed for spring weather on March 1 & 2, because from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, you’ll find this cozy market in full swing along De Lange Vijverberg.
