Great news: this summer, you can reserve a spot in nature again for the most delicious outdoor breakfasts! And if there’s something that makes us happy, it’s enjoying a bite and a cuppa with our feet in the grass or toes in the sand. An upturned crate serving as a breakfast table and a freshly served organic breakfast from a wooden cargo bike. For those who are still unsure what I’m talking about, here’s a little refresher:

Buitenontbijtjes! (translated to Outdoor breakfasts): A super cool concept and a delightful start to your day. Because starting your day in nature with a delicious, healthy breakfast, that just makes you happy, right? Haagse Schat Aafke dives into the kitchen early in the morning to prepare the tasty breakfasts, fills her cargo bike with goodies, and sets off on her bike to let you enjoy.

Lovely outdoor spots

She serves her homemade breakfasts a few mornings a week at the nicest spots in The Hague. From Clingendael and Landgoed Oosterbeek to Haagse Bos and the beach. All you have to do is pick a nice spot and settle down in a wheelchair developed by Aafke and her brother, which consists of four sticks and a cloth. Your own weight keeps the chair with backrest upright so it doesn’t tip over. Another great idea!

And for those who think such a breakfast is only suitable for early birds, think again. You can reserve a breakfast at your favorite outdoor spot and drop by between 08:00 and 11:00. So, it’s suitable for starting your workday right or just for a nice lazy Sunday!
