In this monthly feature we shine a spotlight on one of our local entrepreneurs. This time it’s all about three unstoppable guys. Meet Toine, Chris and Floris, the driving force behind one of our seaside treasures: BLOW.
Toine, Chris en Floris – BLOW Beach House
At a stunning spot on the southernmost stretch of Kijkduin beach, where the Zandmotor meets the North Sea, you’ll find BLOW Beach House. Over the past few years, this place has grown from a small “container kitesurf school” into a full-fledged beach house. With a menu full of delicious, honest dishes, a professional kitesurfing school, and an event space that hosts more than 150 events each year, BLOW has become a true seaside destination—all with a relaxed vibe that’s hard to find elsewhere. As the guys themselves like to say: every day BLOW is open, life is celebrated.

What makes BLOW truly BLOW?
BLOW is the happy place at the far end of the beach: a spot where everyone’s welcome and you can simply be yourself, right in the middle of The Hague’s natural beauty. Innovation, inclusivity, and quality are at the heart of everything we do. In recent years, we’ve taken our restaurant in a new direction, and you can now enjoy genuinely high-quality food here.
What does a day at BLOW look like?
We start the morning slow and easy: dog walkers out on the Zandmotor, coffee brewing, breakfast being served, and the first kitesurfers hitting the water. Around lunchtime, everyone gathers for a healthy meal, from our staff to holidaymakers. And let’s be honest, those on vacation are often already ordering their first Aperol Spritz. As the day unfolds, a relaxed vibe settles in, with drinks, music and a terrace that gradually fills up for dinner. Guests share Neapolitan pizzas, Picanha from the Green Egg or the freshest catch of the day. And then… sunset. That’s when we all pause for the “Sunset Beer”, setting our work aside for a moment to raise a glass together. Then it’s back to work. Slowly, the sun dips into our beloved North Sea, the firepit is lit and we settle in to enjoy the evening.
What are your dreams, goals or plans for the future?
A restaurant of the future, right here on the beach. We want to keep building in harmony with nature. Our dream is to become the zero-emission beach club, a flagship for The Hague, offering year-round experiences in sport, culture and sustainable dining. One thing’s for sure: we’re far from done here.
