The city with all its diversity of neighborhoods, canals, courtyards, and alleys. Amidst all this beauty, The Hague also boasts many large beautiful gardens and parks scattered throughout the city. Curious? We’ll share our favorite city gardens in The Hague. Read on, discover, and go on an adventure.
Emma’s Hof
Nestled between two rows of houses in the Regentessekwartier, you’ll find Emma’s Hof. A peaceful city garden with seating areas among the plants and flowers, and with a fun natural playground for children. The neighborhood organizes the coziest activities here, such as wine tastings or Christmas markets! Check Emma’s Hof’s website to see what fun events are planned.
Nutstuin
In the heart of the city, hidden behind the hustle and bustle, lies the Nutstuin, nestled behind the Nutshuis. You can find the entrance on Jan Hendrikstraat next to the Ibis hotel, or you can walk to the garden through the Nutshuis. This very surprising, open, relaxed, and organic city garden is one you won’t soon forget. There’s a small vegetable garden with beehives, and fruit and nut trees. In the summer months, the garden is transformed into a cozy open-air cinema with various music performances.
The Hague city Vineyard
Have you ever spotted the surprising greenery near Moerwijk station? Here, grapes grow, yes for heavenly wine! Tycho Vermeulen produces about 500 liters of wine per year. You definitely want to see and taste that, right?! Long live the open days and special wine tastings. You can also rent a piece of vineyard, how cool is that! For all info and possibilities, check out the website of this awesome Hague city vineyard.
Pluk
Looking for an afternoon at the petting zoo, but with a slightly different twist? Then head to Pluk! Pluk is a pick-your-own garden, nature garden, and petting zoo all rolled into one. You can take a delightful stroll through or around the nature garden, pick your own harvest, enjoy a cup of coffee, or have a delicious breakfast. While the little ones are busy in the sandbox by the terrace, you can enjoy some me-time. Pluk is run by volunteers and individuals participating in day programs. It’s a beautiful concept, so make sure to check it out!
Enjoy all this wonderful hidden greenery in our city!
