Spring break! Let’s go out!

The days are getting longer, and a (fresh but sunny) holiday is just around the corner. Time to get out and about! Read here for what’s happening in The Hague.

Thursday 12 February 2026

From 14 to 22 February it’s spring break in our region. If you ask us, the perfect moment to shake off that winter mode. The days are getting longer, the sun shows up a bit more often, and we finally feel like heading outside again. Get some fresh air, go exploring with the kids, discover new spots in The Hague… This is the week to go out!

Krokuskabaal at Theater de Regentes

On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during the spring break it’s time for Krokuskabaal at our newest Hague treasure, Theater de Regentes. At this cozy creative place on Weimarstraat, the spring holiday children’s festival is being celebrated (for the tenth time already!).
Expect theatre, music, dance, workshops, craft activities and much more. A packed programme for kids of all ages.

Pizza Party with Bennie

On Sunday 22 February you can join the Pizza Party by Bennies Playcare at Lunchroom Luca. Decorate your own pizza box, top your pizza exactly how you like it, and then devour your homemade creation!

All mini chefs aged 3–8 are welcome from 14:30 to 16:00. Cost: €12.50

Cineminimaxi at Het Filmhuis

An afternoon at the movies is always a good idea! During the spring break, Filmhuis Den Haag is screening lots of fun extra films. And on 14 and 15 February there’s even a mini film festival for the very youngest visitors: Cineminimaxi, full of cheerful new film programmes.

Festival ‘Dag in de Branding’

Already edition 75! On 21 February, several Hague venues, the Residentie Orkest and other composers and musicians introduce you to the newest music. The Hague treasure Filmhuis Den Haag also participates. Here you can catch a cool Buster Keaton special.

Face the sun at de Boshut

One of the nicest things: wrapped up in your winter coat, sitting sheltered from the wind on a terrace with your face in the sun. After (or before) your forest walk, drop down at De Boshut on Badhuisweg. This is where you’re guaranteed to catch those first rays of sunshine.

Climbing in a Boulderhal

Boulderhal Walhalla and Boulderhal De Campus are open every day during the holidays, so go climbing! You might be surprised how challenging it is. First time bouldering? Join an introductory lesson.

Winemakers dinner at Dr. Wines

These are the kind of special evenings you don’t want to miss: a winemaker’s dinner at Dr. Wines. During these dinners the winemaker personally joins your table, sharing the story of the estate, the vintages and the craftsmanship behind every bottle. The chefs create a dedicated menu so each wine perfectly matches the food.

On 18 February it’s Plaimont’s turn, a cooperative from Gascony (South-West France). True wine geeks will even get to taste a 1998 vintage!

Surfing at Aloha

Even – or especially – in winter, the Dutch coast is perfect for a morning or afternoon of surfing! Rent a board and wetsuit, maybe book a (beginner) lesson, and head into the water. That hot chocolate afterwards tastes even better.

Aloha’s surf school is open daily from 09:00 until sunset.
