With these lovely spring days, the Hague is in full bloom—literally and figuratively. In this blog, we’ll take you on a tour of colourful, fragrant and green treasures in The Hague. From the prettiest flower shop to creative workshops all about flowers, and cosy local stores where you can shop natural products. Bring on that spring feeling!
- Lush bouquets, stylish vases, and cheerful accessories—a visit to Flower Shop De Iris is always a treat. Whether you’re looking for a stunning bridal bouquet or that one perfect bloom for your dinner table, you’ll find care and attention—for both you and the flowers. The women behind De Iris are passionate about their craft, and you can feel it. Add the explosion of colours in the shop, and it’s clear why this is our favourite flower shop in town.
- Little Green Shop is a perfect mix of plants, lifestyle, furniture and vintage clothing, making it one of our absolute favourites in the Zeeheldenkwartier. What makes this green city shop even more unique? In the backyard, you’ll find a real greenhouse. Right now, the greenhouse and garden are being prepared for spring. Starting in April, the greenhouse will once again be filled with beautiful (indoor) plants, all lovingly cared for by owner Barro.
- Sientje, our very own The Hague-based fashion designer, is not only into fashion but also crazy about flowers. And she tries to incorporate them into her work as much as possible. In her studio, she offers fun workshops around this theme. Think: making flower crowns, arranging bouquets, or crafting felt flowers (especially fun for kids).

Flowers and plants also bring us some truly lovely products you can shop for at these great local stores—to enjoy at home.
- How about some delicious flower honey? At Rechtstreex on Weimarstraat, you’ll find fresh, local honey from Bijenbaas. Their bees thrive in Dutch nature and are cared for without harmful chemicals. Good for the bees, and good for you!
- We’re pretty obsessed with this little plant, because in our office we go through litres of tea every day. The most delicious teas can be found at The Hague treasure Kali Tengah—just like Rechtstreex, also on Weimarstraat. With over 90 types of tea, you’ll keep coming back to discover your new favourites.
- One form of tea that might be less well known (but is quickly gaining popularity) is Matcha. And the Matcha heaven of The Hague? That’s Hug the Tea. At this tea bar in the beautiful Hofkwartier, they don’t just serve the best Matcha—you’ll also learn everything there is to know about this green gem from Japan.
