This is what we love! Two entrepreneurial girls who started a business together and share their creative passion with the rest of The Hague. And that with ceramics. Clay, so to say. Have you always wanted to shape your own mug out of clay? Amy and Michelle will teach you the tricks of the trade.
Clay, clay, clay
Amy and Michelle met each other at the Royal Academy of Art, the art academy of The Hague. They spent hours, days, and years together in the ceramics classroom, creating all kinds of sculptural objects from clay. It was there that the dream was born to one day open a ceramics studio together. And so it happened. In the fall of 2024, the doors of Het Keramisch Huis (The Ceramic House) opened. Their own ‘home for clay and ceramics,’ where the ladies hope to pass on their passion and expertise to you.

Creative Studio
With courses and workshops for both beginners and advanced, Amy and Michelle hope to get all of The Hague into clay crafting. Whether you come with a carefully planned design or just want to improvise, they’ll help you navigate the endless world of ceramics. All workshops include materials, firing costs, coffee, tea, and a little treat (made by Amy’s mother). With clear explanations and a relaxed atmosphere, you’ll have your own tea mug or espresso cup on the table in no time.
The anti-squat space in a national monument from 1925 in Benoordenhout gave Amy and Michelle the opportunity to start The Ceramic House. Since the building currently has no designated use, they’re allowed to turn it into their own creative space and studio.
Keep in mind, being in a monument can (especially on cold days or evenings) be a bit chilly! Planning to attend a workshop? Be sure to dress warmly and put on your creative hat.
