The Westeinde. It’s one of those streets you speed through on your way to the center of The Hague. Quite an uninviting, gray street if you ask us. But hidden within this street is a true treasure. On a cozy little square with three beautiful trees, there are some picnic tables. Here, you’ll find the Hague treasure, Petit Paradis. Indeed, a little paradise in the city.

Petit Paradis is a coffee and lunch spot in a charming old corner building (which we love!). They serve homemade cakes and pastries, breakfasts, sandwiches, and salads. The menu is simple and steady and is prepared with love. Right next to the gate to the Kloostertuin, this is a delightful meeting place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

More Than Just Coffee

At Petit Paradis, it’s about more than just coffee and lunch; they are part of Foundation 488, a socio-cultural organization with a living community in the heart of The Hague. In the building next to the café, families, singles, seniors, and young people live together as one big family. From this community, various compassionate projects are initiated. For example, at least fifty percent of the revenue is donated to crisis shelters and the recovery of vulnerable girls in The Hague.

Offer opportunities

The residents of the living community form the core of the activities of Foundation 488. All residents are involved in projects and are guided by professionals in the field. Based on the philosophy that everyone becomes happier and more stable when they can use their talents, they are given the opportunity to learn a trade through vocational training in areas such as wood and metalworking, (green) maintenance work, and in hospitality at Petit Paradis.

The doors of Petit Paradis are open to everyone on Monday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
