Restaurant Baardman
We have to admit: we’re not necessarily fans of Theresiastraat. It lacks a bit of coziness and atmosphere in our opinion. But how different it is when you step over the threshold of Restaurant Baardman. In this restaurant with Mediterranean influences, those two ingredients are exactly what you’ll find. Because owner Bart (without a beard, the name of the restaurant refers to the Bearded Reedling bird) has created such a delightful place here!
A stroll through the menu
We absolutely recommend planning a trip to Theresiastraat soon. Because it’s just a 5-minute bike ride from the city and this restaurant is really worth it. You’ll be rewarded with wonderfully fresh and unique dishes. A party on your plate! Now that you’ve gotten moving, is the stroll through the menu (chef’s menu) something for you? Will you go for the ever-changing pasta of the day, or will you, like us, lick your fingers over a delicious pan of shakshuka during lunch? Make sure to save room for one of the homemade desserts anyway. Because turning down such a tasty raspberry tartlet would be a shame. Oh, and did I mention they also have incredibly tasty wines? The hosts will gladly advise you on those.
Familiar Faces
While many restaurants experience frequent staff turnover, at Baardman, you’ll almost always encounter the same friendly faces. A dedicated team with a passion for delicious food and hospitality. An open kitchen (which we love!) and a sunny terrace out front. And did we mention that this is an ideal spot if you’re coming to The Hague by train and seeking a cozy spot away from the hustle and bustle of the city?
Still not convinced? Take a sneak peek at the dessert menu; it’ll dispel any doubts right away.
