Joske and Robin, the owners of this beautiful waterfront spot, are committed to treating Mother Earth as kindly as possible, and they want to take you along on that journey. The menu is filled with delicious and sustainable choices for you to enjoy.
More Than Just a Restaurant
Ethica is more than just a sustainable restaurant. For example, they have their own vegetable garden! And an extensive ‘Ethica at Home’ menu. Not only a take-away menu, but also a wide range of packages. Whatever you choose, you can be sure that you’re helping to make the world a bit more sustainable. Who wouldn’t want to contribute to sustainability, right?
Sustainable, Local, and Homemade
These are the values they uphold in running the restaurant. Sustainable products, local collaborations, and as much homemade as possible. For instance, they brew their own beer and have their own vegetable garden. Did you know that even the chairs in the restaurant are homemade? The restaurant is seen as a means to promote sustainability to as large an audience as possible. They do this not only in the restaurant but also through sustainable packages, courses, and workshops. How can you help? By sharing Ethica’s story with your friends and family and inviting them for a delightful dinner or treating them to one of those fantastic packages!
Ethica, Spinoza’s Most Important Book
The name Ethica refers to Spinoza’s book. Why Spinoza? There are several reasons. Firstly, the restaurant is located in the very place where Spinoza lived his life. Here, you’ll find Spinoza’s statue, the Spinoza House, Spinoza Street, Spinoza Court, and Spinoza Gate. In the book Ethica, he describes his philosophy about the universe and the role of humanity within it. This philosophy aligns well with the philosophy of Joske and Robin’s restaurant. It’s a beautiful story to share while enjoying a delicious dinner at this fantastic gem, isn’t it?

Wij houden ervan: van die ondernemers die niet stil kunnen zitten. En daar hebben we er weer twee van gevonden: Udo en Lisanne. Zij openden Eetwinkel Vork op de Fahrenheitstraat en brengen niet alleen heerlijk eten, maar ook een bak energie en enthousiasme mee.
Dit doorgewinterde horeca-stel loopt al een tijdje mee en hield jarenlang verschillende restaurants door het hele land draaiende. En omdat ze wel houden van lekker veel hooi op hun vork (snap je ;)) , besloten ze hun droom waar te maken en hun eigen eetwinkel te beginnen.
Het menu van Eetwinkel Vork wisselt wekelijks. Udo en Lisanne kiezen op de bank thuis zorgvuldig uit wat ze die week gaan bereiden. Udo, een ervaren chef, staat garant voor maaltijden van topkwaliteit. Lisanne zorgt dan weer voor de verrukkelijke zelfgebakken taarten. Het resultaat? Een vitrine vol heerlijke opties om mee te nemen, plus een klein zitje voor wie ter plekke wil genieten.
Achter in de eetwinkel vind je een grote en gezellige keuken waar chef Udo workshops geeft. Of je nu je kookvaardigheden wilt verbeteren of gewoon een leuke middag wilt beleven, er is voor ieder wat wils. Workshops vinden standaard eens per week plaats en zijn ook privรฉ te boeken. Perfect voor een verjaardagsfeestje, een teamuitje, of een andere speciale gelegenheid.
