Borrelen: we Dutchies love it. It’s a fun saying for having drinks and snacks in a relaxed and social setting. We certainly do it at the end of every work week and always look forward to it, especially when it’s in the Oude Molstraat. The coziest little borrel street in The Hague, right in the heart of the city. It feels like a mini vacation there. While you could grab a seat at many charming cafes and restaurants in the area, for the ultimate borrel experience, you have to head to Proefboutique. Because at this The Hague treasure, borrelen takes on a whole new dimension.

Consider yourself warned: one glance at the menu and you’ll be hopping on your bike straight to Proefboutique. This is borrelen 2.0! A menu filled with exciting bites, new lunch dishes, outstanding wines, and delightful platters. We understand if you can’t decide, but fortunately, you don’t have to, because with the extensive tasting platter, your borrel is already complete. A platter full of various treats. Meant for two, but you might not want to share.
Good times at the Oude Mol
Owner of Proefboutique, Amber, had dreamed for years of having her own place where everyone could come and taste delicious bites. Tasty, pure food, not too complicated, but different. When she started making snack boxes for home during the COVID pandemic, she got completely hooked. After all, having drinks and snacks is the most fun thing there is. And even more so when you get to introduce people to something new each time… When the little building in the Oude Mol came her way in 2021, she knew for sure: this would be Proefboutique! A cozy, intimate place where you can also enjoy the terrace. Because if there’s anywhere cozy to sit outside, it’s in the Oude Mol! The street in The Hague where you want to be at least once a week.
Can’t wait for the Friday afternoon drinks to start? Proefboutique is also open for lunch and coffee. Enjoy a cuppa and one of their tasty lunch dishes. Then take a stroll through the cozy Hofkwartier before coming back for that well-deserved glass of wine and the drinks you’ve been looking forward to all day. But beware, because after this, drinks will never be the same…
Proefboutique is open every Thursday to Sunday, catering to both early drinkers and evening diners! And starting from June, they will also be open on Wednesdays! It’s extra fun because Wednesday is Gin & Tonic night. Enjoy gin & tonics for โฌ8… We know what we’d choose;)

Wij houden ervan: van die ondernemers die niet stil kunnen zitten. En daar hebben we er weer twee van gevonden: Udo en Lisanne. Zij openden Eetwinkel Vork op de Fahrenheitstraat en brengen niet alleen heerlijk eten, maar ook een bak energie en enthousiasme mee.
Dit doorgewinterde horeca-stel loopt al een tijdje mee en hield jarenlang verschillende restaurants door het hele land draaiende. En omdat ze wel houden van lekker veel hooi op hun vork (snap je ;)) , besloten ze hun droom waar te maken en hun eigen eetwinkel te beginnen.
Het menu van Eetwinkel Vork wisselt wekelijks. Udo en Lisanne kiezen op de bank thuis zorgvuldig uit wat ze die week gaan bereiden. Udo, een ervaren chef, staat garant voor maaltijden van topkwaliteit. Lisanne zorgt dan weer voor de verrukkelijke zelfgebakken taarten. Het resultaat? Een vitrine vol heerlijke opties om mee te nemen, plus een klein zitje voor wie ter plekke wil genieten.
Achter in de eetwinkel vind je een grote en gezellige keuken waar chef Udo workshops geeft. Of je nu je kookvaardigheden wilt verbeteren of gewoon een leuke middag wilt beleven, er is voor ieder wat wils. Workshops vinden standaard eens per week plaats en zijn ook privรฉ te boeken. Perfect voor een verjaardagsfeestje, een teamuitje, of een andere speciale gelegenheid.
