An Easter in The Hague

Easter is easily one of our favourite holidays—especially with all the amazing brunch options our The Hague treasures are serving up again this year.

Tuesday 15 April 2025

Sure, we love Christmas—but Easter might just have even more to offer: delicious food, cheerful get-togethers, and (with a bit of luck) better weather and way more daylight. Everything’s blooming this season, and people just seem a bit more upbeat. That’s why we’re officially nominating Easter as one of our favourite holidays. Even better: our beloved The Hague treasures are serving up a weekend full of fun—and tasty—activities. The only hard part? Choosing what to do first…

Egg-cellent

Are you the chosen one to host the Easter brunch this year? Then you know: good prep is half the battle. Luckily, these treasures have got your back.

Wrkshop

On Saturday April 19, from 9:30 to 2 PM, this lovely spot is hosting its Saturday Market once again! You’ll find sourdough bread that’s to die for and seriously good chocolate—basically the essentials for a proper Easter breakfast.

Eetwinkel Vork

Here, you can put together your very own Easter box. Mix and match from a selection of tasty, homemade dishes. Think egg-truffle salad, asparagus salad with salmon, vitello tonnato, creamy mashed potatoes, and a lemon-mango trifle for dessert!

De Bij Keuken

Famous in The Hague: Aafke’s breakfast box. For years, we ventured into nature with her beloved Buitenontbijtjes (outdoor breakfasts). And while we sadly have to miss those now, the breakfast box lives on—and yes, also for Easter! Order a box full of tasty breads, cakes, and other breakfast goodies to enjoy at home.

Rechtstreex

Rechtstreex’s shop on Weimarstraat is packed with Easter breakfast delights. Think festive breads, granola, meringues, and mini pastries—all locally sourced, of course. Just the way we like it.

Pull up a chair!

Not in the mood to cook? No worries—plenty of our The Hague treasures are ready to welcome you for a delicious Easter brunch. Just grab a seat and enjoy!

Brute Bonen

Start your Easter Sunday with top-notch coffee at Brute Bonen. On April 20, they’re serving a deluxe breakfast—and for extra fun, there’s an Easter egg painting session at 1 PM. A quick email to espressobar@brutebonen.nl will secure your spot!

Bistro Jules

This treasure is celebrating Easter big time with not one, not two, but three Easter dining days (April 18, 19, and 20)! Expect a French-inspired menu with seasonal treats like asparagus, stuffed eggs, loads of cheese, and strawberries for dessert.

Tommy’s & Zuurveen

Tommy’s & Zuurveen opens its doors for Easter as well. On Easter Sunday, you’re welcome for lunch, drinks, and dinner. On Easter Monday, they’re taking it easy, but you can still stop by for a cozy lunch or afternoon drinks. If the sun’s out, grab a spot on the floating terrace out front!

Sam Sam

Sam Sam wouldn’t be Sam Sam if you couldn’t try a bit of everything—yes, even on Easter. Their special Easter platter includes yogurt, croissants, assorted breads… Perfect for indecisive eaters like us!

Heads up: open Easter Sunday only, starting at 9 AM.

Proefboutique

On April 20, Proefboutique is hosting a generous Easter brunch in two shifts (10:30 AM and 1:00 PM). Highlights? A fresh pea-mint spread with feta and a smoked salmon rillettes with dill and fennel—just to kick things off! There’s so much more waiting to be devoured.

Roast Factory

Let’s be honest: the best part of Easter is hunting for eggs. And no, it’s not just for kids! Roast Factory gets it—so on both Easter days, you can join their egg hunt. Find a giant egg? Enjoy a free cup of coffee. Spot the golden egg? You’ll win an actual barista course. Game on.

Blow Beach House Kijkduin

Easter at Sea

When the sun’s out, there’s nothing quite like living in The Hague—where the beach is just around the corner! It instantly feels like a mini holiday. So why not make the most of the long Easter weekend with a seaside brunch? Here are our favourite beachy spots for a sunny Easter breakfast or brunch with your toes in the sand:

Suiderstrand

Sun, sea… and a luxe Easter platter with bubbles! That’s what you’ll get at Suiderstrand if you stop by for Easter breakfast on the first or second Easter day, between 9:00 and 11:00 AM.

Strandhuis Maví

The lovely folks at Maví are putting on a relaxed and tasty Easter buffet. Expect eggs in every form (stuffed, scrambled, or made of chocolate), sweet rolls, quiche, yogurt with granola, and so much more. Happening on both Easter days, in two shifts: breakfast from 9:30–11:30, and lunch from 12:00–2:00.

De Kwartel

On April 20 and 21, you can enjoy a delicious Easter brunch at the beach from 9:00 to 12:30. Think all the Kwartel classics: cured meats, young and aged cheese, brie, vegetarian quiche, salmon quiche, scrambled eggs, a green salad with (of course!) quail (kwartel) eggs , croissants, fresh fruit, and more!

BLOW

BLOW Beach House is back for the season and celebrating Easter with an all-inclusive Easter brunch on both Easter Sunday and Monday. On the menu: eggs Florentine, creamy asparagus soup, Easter bread, and more. Choose from two time slots: 10:00–12:00 or 12:30–15:00.

Haagse Schatten cadeaubon lokale bon Den Haag

You can also use your Haagse Schatten gift card for a delicious Easter brunch at one of the spots mentioned above. Want to treat someone else to a sunny, tasty outing? Pick up a gift card in our webshop or stop by one of our participating locations to get a physical one.
