Treasure behind the treasure: 3 times a charm

 In this section, we highlight one of our Hague treasures each time. This time, we have a unique find. Zoë is involved with not one, but three Hague treasures! She teaches yoga classes at Helder, leads Shake the Dust sessions at de Zelfspot and serves as a community manager at Rechtstreex. Time for a round of questions!

Zoë – Helder Yoga, de Zelfspot & Rechtstreex

If anyone knows what the ‘The Hague Treasure feeling’ is, it’s Zoë. At Helder Yoga, one of our newest The Hague treasures where you can take yoga classes with genuine personal attention, she has been offering Gentle Flow, Yin Yang, Yin Yoga, and a Shake the Dust special since 2019. The latter, a combination of yoga, Pilates, intuitive movement, and dance, is also held every week at Zelfspot. At The Hague treasure Rechtstreex, you can buy fresh food directly from local farmers and producers at their store on Weimarstraat. Zoë is increasingly inspiring people to join in and is building the local community there.

What do you think is typical ‘Haagse Schatten’?

For me, Haagse Schatten are primarily about being genuinely local and always infused with a generous dose of personal attention. Helder Yoga, De Zelfspot, and Rechtstreex all contribute to the local community and work towards awareness and connection. It’s not just about what you do, but especially about the people behind it—people who do their work with passion and always make time for a personal conversation.

What does it mean to you to be part of this group of entrepreneurs?

It gives me a sense of connection and mutual support. The Haagse Schatten Community feels like a place where we inspire each other and develop new ideas together. Our gatherings, for example, are not just fun; they are breeding grounds for new plans. The Hague is full of special places and entrepreneurs, and thanks to Haagse Schatten, these hidden gems are becoming increasingly well-known.

We always say, “A The Hague treasure is worth the bike ride.” What do you personally take a detour for?

For a place with a story! Those small businesses where you find sustainably, locally produced products, where you’re greeted with a smile, and where there’s time for a chat.
