In this monthly column, we highlight one of our entrepreneurs each time. March in The Hague is, of course, all about the construction of the beach pavilions. So it’s high time to ask one of our beach treasures about their plans for the upcoming season!
Martine and Bram – Strandhuis Maví
The beach house was already there, but since last summer, we know Pier32 as Maví! Couple Bram and Martine spontaneously took over the place. They already had hospitality experience with their lunchroom Blij on the Dunne Bierkade. They then gathered a dose of life experience through their two-year world trip (with two kids!). Not afraid of a challenge, they seized the opportunity to take over this beach tent.
With the new name and a new interior featuring fresh colors, everything looks young and fresh again. The two hard workers are at the beach tent every day, have quickly gathered an enthusiastic and fun team around them, and are excited for the 2025 beach season!

Are you all recharged for the upcoming beach season?
Absolutely! This winter, we went on a lovely trip with our daughters and had a great time skiing. It’s important for us to focus entirely on the family for a while, and we definitely achieved that. We also made some exciting new plans for the upcoming beach season and, of course, we want to keep improving Maví.
What are these new plans?
This season, we’re focusing on the look and experience at Maví and improving the dishes. We think we’ve done a good job with that, but since it’s still in the planning phase, we’re excited to see how our guests will experience it on the beach. We’ve got beautiful new beach beds and umbrellas, more plants, and we’re creating cozy corners on the terraces. The menu features some amazing dishes, like a panzanella with watermelon as the base and a smoked paprika dressing. The flavors that come together here are really fantastic! We’re very curious to see what the guests will think of it.
We always say, “A treasure from The Hague is worth the detour.” What do you take a detour for?
We go an extra mile for beautiful and unique items. We find them at Couqou on the Noordeinde. It’s wonderful to browse in this lovely little shop for jewelry and beautiful clothing.
