True to its status as a real The Hague treasure, Kookaburra Beach is just a little off the beaten path, tucked away in a quiet, lovely spot on our favorite Zuiderstrand. This little sister of the larger, more well-known De Kwartel really feels like a hidden gem. A quiet stretch of sand, wide-open views, and a super laid-back vibe. From Strandslag 9, it’s just a few minutes’ walk further along (past De Kwartel’s terrace) to this little paradise.
As the name hints, Kookaburra (you know, that famous laughing Australian bird) has a touch of Aussie flair. You can start your day with an Acai Bowl, enjoy Bundaberg soft drinks, and in the evening, the BBQ often gets fired up.

From relaxed drinks and sporty beach activities to party nights with music and events for all ages, the energetic team at ‘Kooka’ organizes fun-filled events on the beach all year round. Every Friday, you can join a yoga session, take part in a sea swimming course, or gear up for the annual beach volleyball tournament.
