The Chocolate Shop is a tiny store, yet it’s a feast for the eyes. Unique bars, exquisite bonbons, and a spot where you can enjoy a lovingly brewed cup of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate. A homey store nestled in the sustainable neighborhood of De Groene Mient. The most sustainable chocolate shop in Europe is right here in our beautiful city of The Hague!
From bean to bar
For all the chocolate sold in the shop, it’s completely transparent and traceable where it comes from. “From bean to bar” is the motto of The Chocolate Shop for a reason. Owners Ray and Sanna are true (we didn’t even know such a thing existed until recently) chocolate sommeliers and can tell you everything about the exquisite products. Where does it come from, what makes it special, what does it pair well with?
Taste for yourself
We could write extensively about the exceptional chocolate, but in this case, it truly is a matter of tasting and experiencing it for yourself. Fortunately, there are regularly cool events organized that you can participate in. Tastings, workshops, and food pairings with tea, coffee, beer, and wine combined with that extraordinary chocolate. Wij houden ervan: van die ondernemers die niet stil kunnen zitten. En daar hebben we er weer twee van gevonden: Udo en Lisanne. Zij openden Eetwinkel Vork op de Fahrenheitstraat en brengen niet alleen heerlijk eten, maar ook een bak energie en enthousiasme mee.
Dit doorgewinterde horeca-stel loopt al een tijdje mee en hield jarenlang verschillende restaurants door het hele land draaiende. En omdat ze wel houden van lekker veel hooi op hun vork (snap je ;)) , besloten ze hun droom waar te maken en hun eigen eetwinkel te beginnen.
Het menu van Eetwinkel Vork wisselt wekelijks. Udo en Lisanne kiezen op de bank thuis zorgvuldig uit wat ze die week gaan bereiden. Udo, een ervaren chef, staat garant voor maaltijden van topkwaliteit. Lisanne zorgt dan weer voor de verrukkelijke zelfgebakken taarten. Het resultaat? Een vitrine vol heerlijke opties om mee te nemen, plus een klein zitje voor wie ter plekke wil genieten.
Achter in de eetwinkel vind je een grote en gezellige keuken waar chef Udo workshops geeft. Of je nu je kookvaardigheden wilt verbeteren of gewoon een leuke middag wilt beleven, er is voor ieder wat wils. Workshops vinden standaard eens per week plaats en zijn ook privรฉ te boeken. Perfect voor een verjaardagsfeestje, een teamuitje, of een andere speciale gelegenheid.
