The Skill of Distilling

Since 2021, father Edwin and son Valentijn (the namesake of the distillery) have been the duo behind Valentine’s Distillery. Creative, passionate and blessed with a keen sense of flavour, they built their business on a shared love of traditional craftsmanship and genuine artisanal quality.

Local and Artisanal

For their spirits and liqueurs, Edwin and Valentijn use herbs, flowers and botanicals sourced from the beautiful Meijendel nature reserve near The Hague. They also cultivate their own vineyard on fellow treasure WIJdehorst, where they are working towards producing a future wine from The Hague.

Every step of the production process is carried out in-house. Ingredients come from their own land, the surrounding natural environment or local suppliers, and all spirits and liqueurs are crafted in small batches with great care and attention to detail.

Like Father, Like Son

Valentijn began experimenting with fermentation, distillation and the craft of making great drinks at just seventeen years old. After years of experience behind the (cocktail) bar and in the world of spirits, the time had come to bring his own creations to life together with Edwin.

And with great success. From gin, whisky, vodka and rum to limoncello, sambuca, coffee liqueur and jenever, this father-and-son team has mastered them all.

Today, they proudly call themselves thé artisanal family distillery in The Hague.
