What once started as a webshop for coffee beans has grown into a coffee roastery and cozy espresso bar in the Binckhorst. A true treasure of The Hague, because these cups of coffee can be labeled as “detour coffee”!

Perfection in a cup

There are storytellers who can turn any story into a thrilling tale. One such person is Jop, one of the man behind Brute Bonen. Together with Pieter, he started the quest for the perfect espresso a few years ago. Jop can tell the story behind this perfect espresso all too well! And the good news is: that perfect espresso has been found.

The best day to drop by for a cup? Tuesday. Every other week, Monday is roasting day. So, the freshest cup you’ll drink is on the following Tuesday!

Green oasis

In the summer of 2023, Brute Bonen opened their beautiful espresso bar in The Hague’s Binckhorst, and it’s a green oasis of calm. Yes, right there in the Binckhorst. Because you probably already knew it’s no longer a dull and grey industrial area. The Brute Bonen espresso bar is situated by the water of the Trekvliet, surrounded by greenery. There are even plants growing on the building itself! In summer, you can enjoy your cup by the water on the sunny outdoor terrace.

At the Brute Bonen espresso bar, you can have breakfast, lunch, and, of course, coffee. They strive to use organic products as much as possible, as sustainably as possible, and work with local entrepreneurs. That’s something to be happy about!
